Pom-poms
Pom pom” are flat, plastic filaments in half pounds units.
There are two kinds of "pom pom" :
- individual "pompom", they are called Oil Nets,
- "pompom" attached together to a 15 meter polypropylen rope called Drag Nets
Oil Nets and Drag Nets float in water and trap heavy oil at contacts of the plastic tentacles. Oil Nets are reusable. After draining, bunker or heavy fuel oil extracted can be recycled or down graded as fuel oil. Used as a sweeping net between two boats, or deployed along a shoreline, they are called Drag Nets.
